The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it

If you are anything like me, you LOVE being told you can't do something. That is my fire, my fuel. That is what lights me up and makes me wanna do it SO much more (and take pictures).

IMO It's not like your friends, family, partner, or teachers are trying to deliberately put you down, it usually comes from a place of jelousy - I wouldn't be able to do that, therefore I'm going to tell you you can't.

Im my experience, it is usually because people can't be 'bothered' doing it themselves. It's not a fault. I am not criticising them at all. But as humans we naturally want to take the path of least resistence, and just have an easy life. Who can blame us? When something hard, challenging or seemingly impossible comes along, it is our natural instinct to say - nah, it cannot be done. Don't waste your time.  Whereas I like to say, step out of my way and watch me.

2022 is always going to be one of the most challenging years I have faced.  It was the year I decided to do two back to back IFBB bikini shows (Victorian States, and Nationals), study full time, run this business oh and work full time as a trainee lawyer. Safe to say, my plate was full.  There was a LOT of work for this little poppet. I was told OVER AND OVER " you will burn out", "you can't do it all", ""  and other words to that effect.

But - I did it!

  • I bought huge mirrors and a home gym
  • I posed EVERY day in the months leading into the show.
  • I trained 5 times a week.
  • I studied and worked on the treadmill to get my steps in-my partner made me a walking desk
  • I listened to countless mindset podcasts to get in the zone whilst sewing and crystallising costumes
  • I posted orders on my lunch break
  • I created costumes on the weekends
  • I studied until 12am to get the assignments done

I did what was necessary in that moment in time, knowing the pain was temporaryYes it was hard. But there are no excuses.

I placed 4th and 5th in my bodybuilding shows as a natural athlete in a STACKED lineup, landed a heap of new clients, maintained friendships, landed a sweet lawyer role at the end. The grind was necessary and whilst I was really, really worn down, it was so worth it because now I know what I am capable of.

Make no mistake, this was  very hard and not sustainable long term. I am not suggesting you absolutely smash yourself. But what I am saying is -Don't let anybody tell you what you can and can't do (except you know, the laws and legislation). You are the master of your own destinies my darlings, you know your own limits and you know what is necessary to get the job done.

Go and kick those goals!
